Pastor Edith Council

Edith Council was ordained to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in June 1992 by Apostle Herbert L. Bright, Sr., pastor of Faith Tabernacle Church .  She served for several years as Associate Pastor prior to committing to a work at Holy Ground Outreach Ministries.

In January 2005, Apostle Ivory L. Hopkins, Overseer to Holy Ground, ordained her Pastor of Holy Ground Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Samuel Campbell.

Pastor Council attended the Ark of Safety Bible School , completing with honors, General Bible I & II.  In July of 2001, she also completed the chemical, alcohol & drug counseling program (CADC), a 2-year course at New Reality Counseling Center .

Pastor Council realizes that there are many lost souls who will not or are unable  to come into the church, so she is determined that the church go outside of the four walls to where they are.  She is currently active in prison ministry preaching the Word of God every 3^rd Sunday to the inmates at Delaney Hall in Newark where God is blessing and continually birthing souls into His kingdom.

She is also active in the women’s ministry at Holy Ground.  Women led by the Spirit of God to “go into the highways and hedges compelling them (the lost) to come to Him”.  As part of the team, she can be found downtown Plainfield one Saturday out of the month, handing out tracts and telling of the good news of Jesus Christ to all that will listen.

Pastor Council understands that God has called the body of Christ to offer up our lives as praise unto Him, whereby He is glorified in every area and aspect of our lives.  And she willingly and joyfully accepts the call.
